The French Perspective

The use of contact radiotherapy using 50 kV X-rays for rectal cancer treatment was pioneered in Lyon by Professor Jean Papillon. Several clinical trials have been conducted to confirm the benefits of this treatment and the scientific interest in the technique has continued through the work at Lyon and by Professor J-P Gerard in Nice.
